Performance is used very well

Relationships: There are some relationships between the lyrics and visuals on screen. For instance at the end, there is a shot where one of the perfomers is walking, and the lyrics are "walking all over me". This is very effective as it relates the visuals and lyrics together. There is also one with the performer in the black room, which emphasizes the fact that she is fed up.

Camerawork: Good use of camera work, some of the zooms look a bit dodgy. Good movement when following Simone walking.

Editing: Fades fit with tone of song and blend 2 people together effectively. Slow motion walking at the end is good, fading down to end of song.

Mise-en-scene: Dark Room setting works really well as it puts emphasis on the singer and you aren't distracted by the background.

Special Effects: Not much used - But some shots desaturated.

Picture House Viewing.

After watching all the videos at the Arts Picture House, including ours, we are pleased with our final music video, we feel there was room for a fair amount of improvement however we are happy with our work. We felt that on the big screen the colours didnt look as effective as it did on the smaller screens. However overall the final music video is of a good standard that we are happy with :)...

Music Video Finished

After complications and after school editing sessions, our music video is finnally finished. We are fairly pleased with the final product, and are watching it at the arts picture house on tuesday along with all the other music videos of the year :)..

STaying late..

Just Had Our Late night editing session after college, music video finnally looking as if its coming along ok now, we had a few complications with dannielle's flight being delayed so therefore being unable to attend the session but some productive work was still done.
Still a bit of work to do untill its finished, but its promising that it will be finished by friday.
Tonight things didnt run too smoothly at first, with some footage not being found due to editing problems early on, but we desaturated some shots and incorparated some special effects and colour corrections. :)

Colour Video Insperation

This Video Shows A Contrast Between Green Trees And The Red Train, This Shows The Effectiveness Of How We Hope Our Colours Would Be.

Change To Idea

After Experimenting The Shots We Dediced That Instead Of Using A Busy Street Scene We Changed It To In The Trees..We Found That By Using This Scene Instead It Might Show More Variety Of Shots And Give Us A More Relaxed Tone, It Will Also Give The Viewer More Chance To Focus On The Words Rather Than The Surroundings..
We Also Decided To Incorporate 2 Contrasting Colours Into The Shots, We Used The Original Black Which We Used Consistantly Throughout All Shots In The Video, However We Decided To Add In A Bright Red/Pink Colour And The Green Against The Trees, We Are Hoping That The Contrast Between The Two Colours Will Add Character To The Scene.

Video Insperation: Performance

The Performance In This Video Where He Is Standing Against A Black Background And Its A Close-Up Of His Face Singing Is Exactly What We Imagined, However We May Prefer It To Be A White Background Instead Of Black. We Like The Simplicity Of This Video, And Also Like The Scene Where He Is Sitting On The Edge Of The Bed..This Is Also SImilar To Our Perception Of Our Main Woman's Movement And Positioning Towards The Begining Of The Music Video.

As Our Music Video Is Simple, We Only Need Three Characters, These Will Be Easy To Find, As Both Of Us Will Be Appearing In The Music Video.
However, As We Found That We Both Would Be In The Video We Suspected That We May Have Complications On Filming, However We Realised That Both The Singer And Modern Day Lady Wouldnt Meet Throughout The Video.

We Also Need Clothes For The Male In Our Video, However As He Will Be Just Waking Up, We Are Hoping To Use Pijama Type Clothing, However Also Slightley Trashy To Compliment His "Partners" Image.

These Three Images Are Similar To What We Expect Our Modern Day Woman To Look Like, Our Inspiration Came From People Like Amy Winehouse, Julia Roberts In The Film Pretty Woman, And Ashlee Simpson In The Days Where She Had Dark Hair.

This Video Is Similar To Our Idea Of The Trashy Woman Waking Up And Getting Out Of Bed, However Our Idea Is Different To This In The Fact That Amy Winehouse's Video Is More Colourfull Than We Imagine Ours To Be, Our Video Will Also Not Have The Musicians In The Background, As This Gives The Shots More Character, And Also Gives A Happier Tone, Whereas Our Idea Is To Focus Mainly On The Girls Life And Show Its Disadvantages, We Like Her Proggesion In This Video, From Waking Up In Bed To Moving Settings. This Is How We Imagine Ours To Be, The Progression Throughout The Day, And This Will Also Be Her Image Becoming Better Throughout The Day, Untill The Final Point Where Shes "Fed Up".

This Video Shows The Style And Image Of How We Imagine Our "Singer" To Look, We Particularly Like The Way In Which She Is Positioned On The Floor, Crouched. We Feel That The Camera Angles And The Plain Colours, With Little To Distract The Eye Off The Singer Is Effective And Is Insperation For Our Music Video.

Change To Ideas

After Thinking About Our Ideas We Realised That We Would Struggle To Make Such A Contrast Without Making It Complicated And Hard To Understand. We Chose To Make Our Music Video Clearer And Simple, But Effective. To Do This We Chose To Not Have The Olden Day Woman And Just Focus On The Modern Day "Trashy" Woman. However, After Reconsidering Our Idea We Also Realised That If We Just Use This Modern Lady Our Music Video Will Apear Dull, So To Show Contrast And A Variety Of Shots We Have Decided To Use Narrative And Performance, The Perfomance Will Be The Singer Of The Song, And The Modern Day Woman Will Be Singing Along To The Radio, As The Song Applys To Her Life. The Main Idea Of The Video Is Similar To The Original Idea, But Without The Olden Day Singer To Contrast Against.

We felt this video was shot well and the lip sync was impressive. It appears quite cheesy which fits the boyband genre well. A well made video. We feel that the video is entertaining and keeps the veiwer interested. However, the shots and lipsincing were sometimes not so accurate. If we were to give this video a mark we would give it a B. The Outfits, Hairstyles And Attitudes of the actors were suitable for this genre of music.

Remi Nicole Lyrics

We found inspiration from the film Pretty Woman. We felt that the appearence and attitude of Julia Roberts is similar to how we perceived our modern day woman to be.

We seleceted this image because the colours and the style was our perception of a saloon style singer. We feel this outfit would be easy to make by our own means. its from www.fancydress.com

Our Pitch

Remi Nichole: Fed up.
Modern v Old times.
Opening shot of scruffy looking woman lying on bed next to man in bed..(in hotel room) evident they've had a heavy night, her top is ripped, make up all over face etc. She is awake, man is asleep passed out. Video tells story of how she is fed up with her life and the man in question.
Variety of shots of the woman walking down a busy street.(modern)
Saloon style bar with glamourous female singer singing lyrics to a bar full of people. (olden day)
Both women featured ares inging the lyrics to represent that they are 'fed up' with life. Shots switch between modern and olden.
Costumes for olden can easliy be obtained as we know a dress maker and there are many good fancy dress shops around. We will allocate ourselves a suitbale budget for the costumes etc.
One of our group members have a bar in their house so we can use this for the saloon shots.
The end of the song/video sees the two womens lives merging together as the modern woman enters the bar.
These are our initial ideas and other shots and scenese will obviously be added as we go along.

Initial ideas

We have chosen track 9: Remi Nichole, Fed up.
We both agreed that we liked the beat and general feel of the track, we also felt it offered many oppertunities for a music video.
The song has a unique feel therefore we felt we could make a unique music video.
Our initial ideas included a video that revolved around the life of two women. One from modern day and one from a long time ago. The idea is that we filmed them in parralel, the modern day woman being 'fed up' with her life and her man and the other woman would be featured singing in a saloon style bar.
